Betrayed Alliance Released

Doan has released Betrayed Alliance. It is one of the most impressive SCI fan games I have seen. You can download it from its Wiki page here:
http://sciwiki.sierrahelp.com/index.php ... d_Alliance
It is a bit of a hefty download since it uses sciAudio for high quality digital audio.

70MB and some change isn't bad. I was expecting like a GIG or something when you said hefty!
Downloading now. Not sure when I will have time to actually GET to it, but downloading it now, regardless.

Hefty for an SCI0 game, considering that SCI0 games shipped on just a few floppies.

Does anybody know of a walkthrough for Betrayed alliance. I'm totally stuck in this game.

Not off hand. I don't know if Doan has one or is planning to write one. You could always look at the source if there is something that has you stuck. Gumby did a fair amount of play testing, so he might be able to help if he sees this.

Yes finished this game but scored 94 out of 120 points. only 1 out of 4 armor pieces 3 out of 5 missing books 3 out of 9 planetary marbles. Could only score 37 on test in library.
I guess i'll have to wait for walkthrough to be completed to find out what i missed.
Sure hope for book 2.
I liked this game except for the sliding and music puzzles. Maybe a recommendation to have a choice to skip these type of puzzles.

I bugged Doan that he should write a walkthrough, but he never responded.

I've downloaded the game, but the file's unable to be run. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to properly play the game, or happens to have a working file they could send me?
(And wow, it's been a while since I've logged on here...)

Did you get it from the Wiki or from SCI Programmers'? If the Wiki, the installer doesn't run or the game?

I redownloaded it, and now it works perfectly! Seems like a good little game so far!

So I apparently downloaded this game, when Collector first mentioned it - I am sure it's on one of my external drives. But Youtube's algo'thingie put this on my radar again, so I dug into it -

There's a thread also on here for Book 2 as Kickstarter.
There's a playable demo of Book 2 (how I became aware of it) - so looks like this might be another series I'd play for my channel.
Seems very Quest for Glory inspired.

Did someone say Quest for Glory? (You knew I'd appear like a demented jack-in-the-box, right?)
I'm surprised this still exists after so many years, especially since it's free. I don't know how much server costs are, or how much it costs to develop a game, but I can't imagine it's cheap. *shrug*

Well I don't know if the first one
was free, just to make it ... but there is a thread (on this forum) for the second one being made via Kickstarter. (Not sure if it was successfully funded or not). But running a website (depending) can be relatively - don't want to say cheap or inexpensive (you can either pay monthly/annually for the service, and then every so often have to renew the domain name as your own) - because everyone's funding is different. It depends on who you go through, what you want out of your site, etc.
But if you have a relatively low bandwidth site, it won't be a bank breaker.
That said, I've let a few of my sites go because of money constraints, but I still have 5 different websites I run myself (comic relief podcast - which will probably be the next to go, to be honest - neverendingnights, which I will probably keep till I am dead, New Warriors Dot Com which I will keep forever, Larry Laffer, another one I will probably always keep, and tawmis.com which has a ton of subsites attached to it).
EDIT - Book 2 thread:
viewtopic.php?p=87502#p87502
And looks like Kickstarter was successfully funded, raising $6,000 -
