Tawm ... er, no. The game is not just played in Europe, but world-wide. :D
Which console generation does this game belong to?

While DPX narrows down console, I will try to narrow down the game -

Was the game on the console, a tennis game?

Is this an individual or team-based sport?

(BTW, you're supposed to provide a clue when some guesses incorrectly, so telling Tawmis that "no, it's not Tennis" isn't particularly useful.)

DPX is correct - guesses, even if not the game title specifically - are supposed to yield hints; typically about the guess, as if we're jarring your memory.

Like you might say:

"No, it wasn't Tennis. I do remember that each team has eleven people on each side."

(Which would give a clue that maybe this was a [American] football game)

Oops. *blush* Sorry.

DPX ... no, it is not a team-based sport. But I think two people could play.

No, it isn't golf.

Hint: there is a time element.

Okay... since most sports have some sort of time element involved, let's try something else: You said this is a second generation console, so would the console in question be the Atari 2600?

Is it on one of the ATARI systems (2600 or 5200)?

DPX and Tawm ... hmm. Wiki sez it was originally released for Atari 8-bit and later for Atari 7800, but I played it on my old Atari 2600 with no issues.

Hint: sometimes, the game has to be stopped for cleaning.

One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird?

I remember playing that game on my Apple II, but it was also available on both the Atari 8-bit and Atari 7800.
